On a hot summer day, there’s no better place to take the little ones than a splash pad! These seasonal park features have a variety of fountains, drop buckets, and other spray features to keep them cool and entertained for hours.

Thankfully, there are plenty of fun and exciting splash pads sprinkled throughout the Ann Arbor area, some accompanied by water slides, zero-entry pools, lazy rivers, and more water amenities. Veterans Memorial Park Pool | Ann Arbor

Open since Memorial Day weekend, the Veterans Memorial Park Pool has a fan-shaped, zero-depth area with a “raindrop,” an interactive water play apparatus, and a 125-foot water slide. It recently underwent an extensive renovation, which included a brand new smooth pool liner. You can also rent the main pool, tot splash, and water slide — or any combination of the three for a birthday party or an event! The cost of admission is free for children under 3, $5 for adults, and $4 for kids ages 4–17 and seniors 60 and up.

Buhr Park Pool | Ann Arbor

The Buhr Park Pool has something for all ages during the summer — including a fan-shaped splash pad with interactive sprayers and lots of toys to play with. And for the older kids and adults, there is a six-lane, 25-yard pool with a 12-foot diving well. Plus, there is a tot pool, which has a zero to 2-foot depth incline! Poolside amenities include lounge chairs, a shaded deck area, a picnic area, and family restrooms and locker rooms for changing. Admission to the pool is free for little ones under 3, $5 for kids ages 4–17 and seniors over 60, and $6 for adults ages 18 and up.

Wilson Park Splash Pad | Milan

Wilson Park is at the heart of Milan, and features a variety of attractions for all ages — including a large playground, basketball courts, baseball/softball and soccer fields, a sand volleyball court, walking/biking paths, BBQ pits, a pavilion, and more. And as of 2021, it now has a brand new splash pad, with several water features, including an adorable silver elephant who spews out water! Access to the Wilson Park Splash Pad is completely free.

Plymouth Sprayscape | Plymouth

Township Park in Plymouth is home to a massive Sprayscape encompassing approximately 2,600 square feet. It has 24 spray features, including water cannons, a horse charger, Froggy-O, Daisy Mae, 12 ground sprays, and more. The Sprayscape was designed to accommodate all ages — and at no cost to visitors!

H2O Zone Spray Park | Westland

The H2O Zone Spray Park is the perfect place to cool off on a hot day. This outdoor spray park in Westland has an 18-foot helicopter hovering 10 feet above the ground that sprays water from the rotors! Plus, there are several other water features, including a water dump bucket and other sprayers — on more than 20,000 square feet. Admission to the H2O Zone is $3 for Westland residents and $10 for non-residents. Or you can purchase an annual family pass (for up to six family members) for $40 for residents and $80 for non-residents!

Blue Heron Bay Spray Park | Whitmore Lake

For a day of fun in the sun, head to Independence Lake’s Blue Heron Bay! Our favorite part is the spray park, which is part splash pad, part jungle gym. It has interactive jets, a water jet spider, cattails, buckets and more! Plus, there is a concession stand with a variety of snacks and refreshments. Admission to Independence Lake Park is required to access the spray park.

Rolling Hills Water Park | Ypsilanti

Rolling Hills Water Park in Ypsilanti is a summertime oasis, equipped with a lazy river, a wave pool, and water slides. Plus, it has an activity pool with zero-depth entry, a gentle bubbler, geysers, a waterfall, and a kiddie slide for children less than 45 inches tall. Relax on the large sun deck with lounge chairs and umbrellas! If you forgot something, the admissions area has swimsuits, sunscreen towels, goggles, disposable swim diapers, and pain relief medication for sale. Admission to the Rolling Hills Water Park is $8 for county residents and $10 for non-residents on weekdays, and $10 for residents and $13 for non-residents on weekends.
