That’s why we rounded up some of our favorite boarding facilities or “dog hotels” in the Ann Arbor area. Each of these lodgings offers comfortable bedding, professional care, plenty of playtimes and other luxurious amenities—like live webcams and nightly movie times! Camp Bow Wow has locations all over the country, so you can rest assured that they know what they’re doing. They staff Certified Camp Counselors® who are extensively trained in dog behavior, CPR and pet first aid. Our favorite feature at Camp Bow Wow is their live webcams, which allow you to watch your pup in real-time from your computer or phone while they play, eat and sleep. 
 

Karnik Pet Lodge at Maple Village

405 North Maple Road, Ann Arbor
Karnik doesn’t call themselves a dog kennel, but rather a home-away-from-home for your pet. They offer both dog and cat boarding, so you can know that all of your pets are in good hands when you travel. For dogs, they make sure to give them plenty of playtime along with gourmet treats and comfortable lodging and your kitty will love the brushing sessions and catch-of-the-day dinners. Each staff member is required to complete Karnik University, an educational and training portal that ensures your pet is in the best hands possible. 
 

BreedAbove

BreedAbove was created after local Ann Arbor business owners and community leaders came together as a result of a personal need for quality care for their furry family members. That idea eventually turned into a brick and mortar location that provides doggy daycare, pet salon services, pet training classes and boarding services. Their NightStay Hotel suites are outfitted with cozy, memory foam beds, rugs and raised feeders so your little buddies are comfortable. And to really give off a slumber party feel, the dogs are treated to snacks and a movie every night as the light and background noise of the movie can make your pup feel more at home. BreedAbove’s suites fill up quickly over the holiday season, so be sure to make your reservation as soon as possible. 
 

DOGHOUSE

Located on 200 beautiful acres, DOGHOUSE in Whitmore Lake is a doggy paradise that offers a wide variety of pet services from training and daycare to luxurious overnight stays. Their picturesque country setting features multiple-acre play areas and extensive walking trails, so you can ensure your pup is getting enough exercise. After they’ve played the day away, they’ll be treated to a comfortable evening in one of the DOGHOUSE suites. Because DOGHOUSE wants to provide the most loving, supportive care possible, they require that your pup be a regular member of their daycare program. Brookeside Veterinary Hospital

All pets are kept in an air-conditioned and heated facility and given plenty of love and attention during their stay.
 

Bridgewater Pet Boarding

Conveniently located between Bridgewater and Saline, Bridgewater Pet Boarding is a family-owned pet daycare and boarding service. Your dog will enjoy access to a large play yard, temperature-controlled kennels and plenty of fun walks where they can get some energy out. Bridgewater employs a veterinarian technician and a vet assistant so that you can enjoy a worry-free vacation. Animal Camp

All pets—from your guinea pigs to your towering Doberman—will love spending the night at Animal Camp in Chelsea! This family-owned company offers everything from boarding to grooming that will make your pet feel like they’re the ones on vacation. Your pet will be treated to a temperature-controlled building, comfort during thunderstorms, veterinary service (if needed), supervised play, bird watching, hide and seek, fetch, mud wallowing and, of course, plenty of cuddles.

Happy Hounds ensures that your hound will be just that—happy! They are committed to providing a safe, fun and stimulating social environment during weekday business hours, weekends and overnight boarding in their on-site boarding house. Each “guest” must have completed the enrollment process before the boarding dates, which includes a meet and greet tour, two days of daycare, and at least one day of rest prior to the boarding stay.
