Once Halloween has come and gone, it’s time for November to ring in the holiday season! While we’re still in the thick of fall, this month’s lineup of events in the Ann Arbor area includes a few Santa sightings along with a holiday cooking class that you won’t want to miss.

Stories of Service | Ann Arbor
November 6, 7-9 p.m. | Michigan Theater
In honor of veterans, Fisher House Michigan is hosting Stories of Service on November 6th. This year, the event at Michigan Theater will include moving stories, humor, music and movement—all to honor the service of our men and women in uniform. Last year, more than 2,000 people attended this free event in support of our local veterans and Fisher House Michigan.
Saline Craft Show | Saline
November 9, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. | Saline Middle School

Featuring an impressive lineup of products and crafts from local makers, bakers and entrepreneurs, Saline Craft Show is the perfect place to shop local before the holidays. Organized through Saline Middle School, the youth groups involved get the opportunity to practice life skills and leadership, as well as earn money for their activities. So swing by the school on November 9th to shop and support!
Saline Antiques & Vintage Market | Saline
November 10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds
Since beginning just a few years ago, Saline Antiques & Vintage Market has become one of the area’s favorite places to shop real antiques. Every show features collectibles, jewelry, home goods and more. It’s the perfect place to find holiday gifts for friends, family and yourself!

Wine, Women & Shopping | Chelsea
November 9, 10 a.m. | Downtown Chelsea

Santa’s Arrival | Downtown Plymouth
November 29, All Day | Downtown Plymouth
It’s that time of year again—Santa Claus is coming to town! Head to Santa’s House in downtown Plymouth to spend the day with the big guy and tell him what you want for Christmas. The Historical Museum will also be open that night at the same time with their special Christmas exhibit.

Kroger A2 Turkey Trot | Dexter
November 9, 9 a.m. | Hudson Mills Metropark
Epic Races is celebrating Thanksgiving the only way they know how—with a race through Hudson Mills Metropark! This running and walking event features three different distances: a 5K loop around scenic Hudson Mills, a 10K course comprised of two 5K loops, and a quick mile fun run. If you’re looking for a challenge, you can run both the 5K and 10K races for a total of 9.3 miles in the Iron Turkey challenge!
Cedar Trace/Maltby Vista Hike | Brighton
November 16, 1-3 p.m. | Huron Meadows Metropark
Get out and enjoy the fall air and leaves on this guided hike at Huron Meadows Metropark! Experienced hikers will take you on a tour of the Cedar Trace/Maltby Vista Hike, a 3.3-mile trip that will showcase the best of southeast Michigan’s landscape. Registration costs $5 and anyone, 10 years old and older, is welcome to attend.
2019 Kona Chocolate Run | Plymouth
November 17, 7:30-11 a.m. | Kellogg Park

Michigan’s largest chocolate party is back and bigger than ever! Celebrate the holidays with Sanders Chocolate Fudge Bumpy Cake and chocolate candies, cups of Panera Bread hot chocolate and Guernsey Dairy chocolate milk—oh, and a fun race. This running and walking event, hosted by Kona Running Company, will feature a 5K and 10K race along with live music, a chocolate party and so much more. Click here to register.

Journey to the Sugar Bush | Dexter
November 9, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. | Hudson Mills Metropark
Take a journey to the sugarbush and discover how maple syrup is made at this fun, educational event hosted by Hudson Mills Metropark. Learn how to tap a tree and then see the sap being boiled into syrup. Afterward, you won’t want to miss the all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast!
Uncork For a Cure | West Bloomfield
November 9, 7-10 p.m. | Cauley Ferrari of Detroit

Fancy Schmancy Holiday Cookies | Ann Arbor
November 30 – December 24, various times | Zingerman’s Bakehouse
The most popular event from Zingerman’s Bakehouse is back for the 2019 holiday season! Fancy Schmancy Holiday Cookies will teach participants how to make the best cookie creations using even more whole grains, local ingredients and freshly milled flours. There are 70 classes through Christmas Eve and all the spots are currently sold out, but if you sign up for the waitlist, you may be able to snag an opening in the event of a cancellation.
