West Ann Arbor encompasses a large region extending west from the heart of downtown near University of Michigan's football stadium, which is easily accessible to residents. You will find a mix of city conveniences, residential neighborhoods and rural land in this expansive region. West Ann Arbor hosts many shops and restaurants, specifically along West Stadium Boulevard, which is home to the Westgate Shopping Center and Maple Village. A few favorite local restaurants in this area include Zingerman's Roadhouse, Seva, Chelas, and The Songbird Cafe. Neighborhoods near the heart of downtown feature some of the city's most charming historic homes, situated along tree-lined streets. West Ann Arbor also hosts a number of newer, thoughtfully designed subdivisions with large contemporary homes.

There is an abundance of parks and green space for West Ann Arbor residents to enjoy, including Lakewood Nature Area, Dolph Nature Area and Veterans Park, which is home to the Veterans Memorial Park Pool & Ice Arena. OLD WEST SIDE

The Old West Side is a historic neighborhood situated just west of Main Street, offering easy access to all the city has to offer while remaining distinctive in its charm and aesthetic. The neighborhood hosts some of the city's most historic homes varying in styles, including mansard, Queen Anne, Romanesque villas, colonial, Georgian revival, Gothic cottages and Italian bracket, most of which were built between 1850 and 1925. The Old West Side is recognized as a “streetscape” district, defined by its exceptional street appearance and overall atmosphere, and was the first in the nation to receive this designation.

WATER HILL

Situated northwest of downtown and adjacent to the popular Kerrytown district, Water Hill is a beautiful neighborhood established in the early 1900s. It features an array of homes ranging in size, style and value, from affordable options to larger properties with extensive modern upgrades. Water Hill residents enjoy access to the restaurants, boutiques and markets along Main Street and in Kerrytown, plus a variety of outdoor recreation areas. UPLANDS

Situated just 10 minutes from downtown, the Uplands is a picturesque, well-designed community surrounded by natural beauty. Homes in the Uplands range in size, style and value, all of which are situated along tree-lined streets with sidewalks. Residents may access a variety of parks and green space, most notably, the Scio Woods Preserve, a 91-acre preserve with wetlands, dense woodlands and maintained hiking trails.

EBERWHITE

The land that now hosts Eberwhite was once the property of Eber White, an early settler in the area. Residents of Eberwhite enjoy convenient access to downtown and the University of Michigan football stadium, which are both within walking distance.

ALLMENDINGER HEIGHTS

The highly sought-after Allmendinger Heights is a small enclave a few blocks west of the University of Michigan football stadium.
