Sayaka Prestia is originally from Japan, and is fluent in Japanese. She has lived in the Ann Arbor area for 16 years and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan University. While in college she worked as a Japanese teacher in a Detroit public school. After college she worked for an auto maker for nine years.
