This Friday we are featuring  4456 Lohr Road, Ann Arbor. We asked Kim Peoples to tell us a bit about her new listing. Read what she had to say!

This wonderfully maintained historical home, the original farmhouse in Stonebridge, sits on a .70 acre homesite with 110 feet of water frontage on Boulder Pond. The spring fed pond allows for catch and release fishing, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding right from your backyard.

Q. Please describe the architectural style of the home.

This home was built in 1864 in the Classic Italianate Architecture Style.  There are no historical preservation restrictions in making changes in the future.

Q. Please describe any distinctive features of the home.

The 3-story brick home has 10’ ceilings and hardwood floors throughout, it’s been very well maintained and completely updated, yet retains its historic character with a beautiful fieldstone fireplace, spiral staircase, 2 covered front porches. The backyard has a lovely fenced English Garden and a potting shed. There is the possibility for multi-generational living, as there is a large bi-fold door on the first floor that could separate the two sides.  Each side has its own staircase going upstairs and downstairs.

Q. Please describe any notable renovations or upgrades.

You’ll enjoy the updated gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, Vermont soap stone counters, professional line appliances. Most windows have been replaced throughout the house. The home’s exterior was repainted in 2021. The primary bedroom with built-in bookcases offers an updated ensuite bathroom.

Q. Please describe what views the new homeowner will be able to enjoy.

The views of the backyard, garden and waterfront are spectacular from the back deck and the 2nd floor balcony. Sunsets are spectacular from the back porch.

Q. Are there any ‘fun facts’ to share about the property?

A fun fact about this home is that the Lohr family lived in the home from the 1960’s-1980’s. They had two generations living together and divided the home with a wall on the first and second floor. The children that were living on the north side of the home with their parents used to run through the basement to visit their grandparents on the south side of the home. The house could be divided again to re-create a multi-generational living arrangement.

Q. Please tell us why the price of the home is great.

This 4,190 square foot home on a beautiful .70 acre waterfront homesite is priced well at $998,000.  Where else can you find a waterfront home in Ann Arbor Schools?

Q. Please describe any amenities the community might have: homeowner’s association, playground, pool, tennis court, walking trails, etc.

The Stonebridge community features an award winning 18-hole public golf course designed by Arthur Hills. It also offers a beautiful community beach, playground, hiking trails, tennis courts, and acres of gorgeous golf course views.

Q. Please tell us about the neighborhood.

The Stonebridge Community offers low Pittsfield Township taxes, Ann Arbor Schools and Ann Arbor mailing address. It’s a great location close to downtown Ann Arbor, area schools, shopping, express way entrances, local hospitals, and Costco.
