Independent Film Festival Returns for its' 52nd Year

The 52nd Ann Arbor Film Festival (AAFF) runs March 25-30, 2014 at the Michigan Theater, State Theatre and UMMA Helmut Stern Auditorium. The AAFF is longest running independent and experimental film festival in North America. This year, AAFF received more than 3,300 submissions, in various formats, for the 6-day fest, and organizers (and volunteers) selected about 180 of them.
Every year AAFF’s annual program consists of curated retrospectives of major film artists’ work, with the filmmaker in attendance. Included in this year’s lineup are Penelope Spheeris (“Decline of Western Civilization,” “Wayne’s World,” etc.) and Thom Andersen (“Red Hollywood,” “Los Angeles Plays Itself,” etc.).

Tickets are $9 per screening ($7 for students, seniors and AAFF members), except midnight movies, which cost $7. Tickets are available for purchase at www.aafilmfest.org.  In order to guarantee yourself a seat you need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the screening you wish to attend.
