A Foolishly Good Time in Ann Arbor

April Fool’s Day may be over but the fun will continue this weekend during FoolMoon and FestiFools. These two great events are a celebration of April Fool’s.
FoolMoon takes place Friday, April 4, from dusk to midnight and features a procession of hand-made illuminated sculptures on Washington and Ashley Street in downtown Ann Arbor. The foolishness starts at 6pm in front of Grizzly Peak and will feature live music and tasty, specially brewed luminary-libations.

Observers can get in on the fun of the event by purchasing a luminary kit for $20.  The kits provide the supplies need to make your own luminary and all the proceeds go to the funding of the event.
FestiFools is the street art fair that features giant man-operated papier-mâché puppets and street entertainment. This year’s FestiFools is Sunday, April 6th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Main Street between William and Washington.

This year, FestiFools will also bring a taste of Brazilian Samba. Magali, a singer-songwriter and dancer (from Rio), and Philip Galinsky, a leading authority in the US on Brazilian music will share their uplifting performance and high-energy skills in samba, the most famous music and dance of Brazil. They will be joined by Nick Rifken from the University of Michigan School of Music Samba Band Vencedores.
