#7. Explore Waterloo Recreation Area

With over 20,000 acres, Waterloo Recreation Area is the largest park in the lower peninsula.

 
Waterloo Recreation Area features two modern campgrounds, a rustic campground, an equestrian campground, a swimming beach, several picnic sites, 11 excellent fishing lakes, 8 boat launches, 12 miles of nature trails, 47 miles of hiking trails, 3 rustic cabins, and numerous equestrian trails.

The Waterloo Recreation Area is also home to the Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center. The Discovery Center introduces visitors to the fascinating world of geology as well as the diverse natural habitats that are found within Waterloo’s 20,000 acres.
