Grass Lake

Overview

The village of Grass Lake, in eastern Jackson County, is located roughly mid-way between Ann Arbor and Jackson.  Rural in character, Grass Lake has about 1,000 people.  Within minutes of the village are a number of lakes, including Grass Lake itself just blocks from the business district.  Also nearby is the 20,000-acre Waterloo Recreation Area which, in addition to several lakes, includes hunting areas, and miles of riding and hiking trails, and some of the best sledding hills in southeast Michigan.

Grass Lake offers a broad mix of older and newer homes.  In 2007, the average price of a single family home was $140,193; the median was $129,900.
