May Days of Caring: Community Baby Shower

Help us give newborns a healthy start at life. The cost of basic needs is rising and many families struggle to make the decision between putting food on the table or purchasing diapers. Currently, over 22% of Washtenaw County children live under the poverty line. Your donations will go far in making in a difference.

Reinhart is doing its part to help make sure babies have a healthy start by partnering with United Way of Washtenaw County. This year marks the 6th Annual Community Baby Shower from Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 29th.

This year in addition to being able to donate at any of our Reinhart offices locations, you can also donate at United Way of Washtenaw County, 2305 Platt Rd, Ann Arbor (between 8am-4:30pm), or Kapnick Insurance Group, 1201 Briarwood Cir, Ann Arbor (10am-5pm).

Huron River Roundup

As it gets warm outside many people are searching for a way to enjoy nature while getting involved with the local community.

A great way to do this is to participate in the annual spring monitoring event, the Huron River Roundup at the Huron River on Saturday, April 20!

Huron River Roundup

This is a wonderful opportunity to bring a few of your friends, family, and co-workers for a unique activity in which you will collect a sample of the bugs that live in our streams. While many of these critters are carnivores, only a few are likely to taste you.

Trained volunteers lead you to two stream sites, where you search through leaves, sediment, and other river debris. Volunteers will get to see the life in the Huron River waterways while helping the health of the river.

Anyone interested in participating should register at http://www.hrwc.org/volunteer/roundup/ by April 17, 2013.  Volunteers can select to participate from 9:00am to 3:30pm or 10:30am to 5:00pm on April 20.

Reinhart Helps Keep our Community Warm

Together with the help of Reinhart staff and agents, area dry cleaners and the overwhelming support of the community, we were able to donate 1,540 winter coats to more than twenty local agencies. Over our 17-year history, we have collected more than 17,000 winter coats, all of which have been donated to local agencies right here in our community.

We were fortunate to partner with local dry cleaners to clean the winter coats we collected before we donated them to local agencies. Thank you to Capitol Cleaners, Chelsea Cleaners and Gold Bond Cleaners for their generosity!

Thank you to Cathy Alfaro, Kelsey Anderson, Nancy Burghardt, Laurie Buys, Carmen Knick, Todd Lands, Maura Rains, Lisa Ridha, Rachel Robinson, Tracey Roy, Susan Schmunk, Patricia Sheehan, Rick Taylor and Melissa VanDam for serving as Reinhart Coat Drive Captains!

We hope to continue the Coat Drive again next year, with the support of our community, to provide coats for those in need. We are very thankful to everyone who participated!
