As a life-long resident of the area, I am familiar with the housing market in Washtenaw, Jackson and surrounding areas. I joined the Ann Arbor Police Department as a Communications Operator after serving in the Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict which utilized my training in the service.
After 4 years of working in that department, I applied for and was accepted as Police Officer. After completing the academy, I was assigned to the road patrol unit, and worked there until I left to go into real estate.
My passion now is securing enough funding to build a Fisher House on the grounds of the VA hospital in Ann Arbor. If you are not familiar with what a Fisher House is, I urge you to go to the website: www.fisherhousemichigan.org These last 5 years has opened my eyes to the importance of non-profits in our community, so from now on, I will donate $100 from each closing to the buyers' or sellers'(whomever I represent) favorite non-profit. If it is a house in the Chelsea school district, an additional $100 will go to the Chelsea Educational Fund.
My work with Rotary started my involvement with veterans-first working on the annual job fair at Washtenaw Community College, then the event called Service Above Self which honors veterans each year around Veterans Day. I was extremely honored to be one of the speakers at the event this year. If you would like to see this presentation, please go to this website: - https://youtu.be/ZkevoCAXjxU
